How do you know your cable is bad? If you get intermittent sound, static, or the sound goes in and out when you move the cable, that’s a good sign the cable needs to be replaced. If the cable is visibly damaged, it might be time to replace it.

If you experience less sound from your monitors, or one side sounds weaker than the other, that is likely NOT the cable. One thing you can do is switch the cables from left to right. If the problem switches ears, then it could be the cable. Most likely, your monitors will need to be cleaned or we may need to put new tubes in.
